Library Square- Who Will Represents Us on the City Council?

 Wendy Greuel is no longer our City Councilperson, as she was elected to be the new City Controller and took office on July 1. There are now 14 candidates who have filed papers with the desire to represent us as our City Councilperson.
Once in office, most incumbents win re-election, so whoever wins the council seat in the upcoming special election may be our representative for the next several terms (ie. the next decade). The special election for Council District 2 will be held September 22, 2009. In August, there will be debates in Sunland-Tujunga and the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association will be holding a meet and greet. More info to follow…

Library Square Sherman Oaks Neighborhood

A typical day living in wonderful Library Square.

 Start your day walking your dog to Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Park. So many things to do at the park: swim, tennis, basketball, softball, soccer, walk or jog. After visiting the park, take a shower and walk to your favorite café for lunch. You have endless choices of restaurants to choose from. Walk over to Best Buy and check out the latest computer gadgets. It’s movie time, right across the street. Choose one of the 5 movies showing at the Theatre. Now that you have finished a movie, let’s put your brain to work by walking to the Library and finding a good book to read. Final chapter of the day: dinner at one of many restaurants to choose and a pint of beer at one of the local pubs. Everything can be found in this 1 mile radius. Whether you’re looking for a newer built home or a charmer built in the 40’s and 50’s, it all can be found right here in Library Square.
